Atiku Abubakar to Appeal Court Ruling on ADC Congresses

Atiku Abubakar, a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has announced his intention to appeal a recent judgment from the appeal court concerning the conduct of the party's state congresses. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Abubakar emphasized that the ruling does not affect the party's ability to nominate candidates for the 2027 presidential elections.

He urged ADC members to remain calm and focused on their political objectives, dismissing claims that the court's decision invalidated the party's primary elections. Abubakar argued that the judgment pertains to the conduct of the state executive committee and does not nullify the party's primary elections conducted in accordance with the electoral act.

He warned against misinterpretations of the ruling and reaffirmed his confidence in the judiciary, stating that the appeal to the Supreme Court is a necessary constitutional step.
