Atiku Abubakar Challenges FBI on Tinubu Records

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar addressed the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), asserting that Nigerians cannot accept the justification of “danger to lives” for withholding records concerning President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku highlighted the tragic irony of the situation, noting that many Nigerians are already suffering and dying due to economic policies implemented by Tinubu since his presidency began three and a half years ago.

He criticized the removal of fuel subsidies without a credible plan, stating that families are struggling to afford basic necessities. Atiku emphasized that while the FBI should protect its agents and methods, it should not use these protections to shield Tinubu from accountability.

He proposed a targeted, transparently financed, and independently audited return of fuel subsidies to support ordinary Nigerians, arguing that economic success should not be measured by the suffering of citizens.
