Delay in Amaechi's VP Announcement Explained by Aide

Abdulrashe Shehu, media aide to Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), clarified the reasons behind the delay in announcing Rotimi Amaechi as the vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections. Shehu stated that the delay is due to Abubakar's current travel schedule, although he did not specify the country of travel.

He emphasized that Amaechi, a former Minister of Transport, has accepted the party's offer to be the running mate. Shehu assured that once Amaechi returns from a short business trip, he will be officially unveiled as the vice-presidential candidate in a few days.

This announcement comes amid a wave of uncertainty and conflicting reports regarding the ADC's choice for the upcoming presidential election.
