APC Chairman Garba Buba Assassinated in Kano Attack

On August 30, 2023, Garba Buba, the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rantan ward, Bebeji Local Government Area, Kano State, was assassinated during a violent raid by suspected terrorists. The attack occurred on Sunday night, with gunmen storming the community and shooting at residents.

Garba Buba was shot and later succumbed to his injuries at a hospital. Another victim, Sulaiman Zunduma, was killed instantly during the assault.

Local resident Hamza Isah Rantan reported the incident, expressing grief over the loss of both men and calling for divine mercy for the injured. At the time of reporting, the Kano Police Command had not issued an official statement regarding the attack.

This incident followed the recent rescue of Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, the Sarkin Noman of Kano state, who had been abducted by gunmen, highlighting the increasing violence and insecurity in northern Nigeria, particularly linked to terrorism and kidnapping.
