Bandits Attack Makarfi Town, One Dead, Elderly Woman Abducted

On Sunday night, bandits attacked Makarfi town in Kaduna State, leading to the death of one resident and the abduction of an elderly mother. The attack occurred between 9:15 PM and 10 PM, particularly around the General Hospital area and Titin Bariki Tsangaya quarter, causing panic among residents.

Abdulrahman Adamu, a local, shared the incident on Facebook, highlighting that such tragedies have become increasingly frequent in the area. A video circulating on social media depicted heavy gunfire, although the Kaduna State Police Command, represented by DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed that the video was not from Makarfi and warned against spreading false information.

The police responded swiftly to the attack, resulting in the arrest of two suspects who are now in custody. This incident reflects a troubling pattern of banditry in the region, threatening the peace and stability of the community.
