Bandits Kill 23 Farmers in Zamfara Daylight Attack

On Wednesday morning, suspected armed bandits attacked farmers in Sauna District of Talata Mafara Local Government Area, Zamfara, resulting in the deaths of 23 individuals. Initially, the Zamfara State Police Command, represented by DSP Yazid Abubakar, confirmed 15 fatalities.

However, community sources later reported that the death toll increased as more bodies were discovered in the farmlands. The victims were ambushed while working, with bandits arriving on multiple motorcycles and opening fire indiscriminately.

A local resident, who requested anonymity for security reasons, provided details of the attack. Following the incident, all 23 victims were buried in a mass burial at Sauna village on Thursday.

DSP Yazid Abubakar stated that security personnel were deployed to the area to restore normalcy after the attack.
