Bandits Murder Dantutture, Katsina Health Secretary

Dantutture, the Health Secretary of Malumfashi LGA and former Director of Primary Healthcare in Funtua LGA, was killed by bandits during an attack in Katsina. He was abducted around 11 pm on Wednesday night after the attackers looted shops in the community.

Eyewitness Kabir Ado Mai Unguwa reported that Dantutture was shot while the bandits were leaving the village. The Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade, in collaboration with local vigilantes, engaged the attackers, resulting in the death of three suspected bandits.

Dantutture was buried in his hometown, with his widow, Fatima Sa’adu, describing him as a humble man dedicated to serving his community. His son, Mu’azzam Sa’adu, and a friend, Alhaji Rabi’u Dantutture, expressed their grief and called for government action against banditry.

The spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, DSP Sadik Aliyu, stated he would verify the incident but had not provided further details at the time of the report.
