Bandits Kill Kogi School Vice Principal, Troops Respond

On Wednesday morning, armed bandits attacked the Government Secondary School Aharha Bunu in Iluk Bunu, Kogi State, resulting in the death of Vice Principal Mr. Gani Anifowos and two others.

The attack occurred while students were sitting for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The Nigerian Army troops stationed nearby responded swiftly to a distress call, successfully foiling the bandits' attempt to abduct students and staff.

The local community expressed growing concerns over insecurity in the area, particularly following this incident. The Kogi State government expressed deep sorrow over the attack, which was described as a terrorist act, and extended condolences to the families of the deceased.

The government commended the bravery of the military personnel and local security forces for their intervention, which prevented further casualties and ensured the safety of the students during the ongoing WAEC examinations.
