Manhunt Launched for Kogi Principal and Student Abductions

A manhunt has been initiated for the gunmen who abducted the principal of Government Secondary School Odo Ekina, four students, and a NECO ad hoc staff member during a national examination on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at approximately 5:25 PM. The Kogi State Police Command, represented by spokesperson Salisu Oyiza, confirmed the incident, stating that the attack occurred while students were writing their examinations.

In response, a combined team of police and security agencies has launched a search and rescue operation, with efforts ongoing to locate and rescue the victims. The Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Nazir Kankarofi, is actively involved in assessing the situation on the ground, and a press release will be issued as more verified information becomes available.
