Bauchi Coalition Urges PRP to Nominate Female Deputy Candidate

The Bauchi Women Coalition has called on the People's Redemption Party (PRP) to select a female candidate for the deputy governorship position ahead of the 2027 elections. This appeal was articulated by Hajiya Hajara Musa, the Director of Media and Communication for the coalition.

The group emphasizes that women's inclusion in leadership roles is crucial for promoting social development and ensuring that the voices of women, children, and vulnerable groups are adequately represented in governance. They believe that choosing a woman as the deputy governorship candidate will positively impact the party and serve as a strategic move to win the support of major voter demographics.

The coalition reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women's political participation and expressed support for the gubernatorial aspirations of Shehu Buba Umar.
