Bayelsa Oil and Gas Park Set for 2026 Launch

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has confirmed that the Bayelsa Oil and Gas Park in Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, is progressing steadily and is expected to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2026. A statement issued by the board indicated plans to install a 2.5 megawatt compressed natural gas power plant to support operations at the park.

Dr. Obinna Ezeobi, the General Manager of Corporate Communications, assured that the facility is on track to meet its timeline.

The park aims to deepen Nigerian content and create a manufacturing base for oil and gas components, generating approximately 2,000 job opportunities upon full operation. Significant infrastructure developments have been noted, including the completion of several facilities such as manufacturing shop floors and a water treatment plant.

The project is designed to reduce dependence on imported oil and gas components and strengthen local participation in the oil and gas value chain.
