Police Arrest 10 Cultists After Scavenger's Killing

The Bayelsa State Police Command, led by Mr. Iyamah Daniel, announced the arrest of ten suspected cultists on Tuesday following a violent incident in the Obel area.

The attack involved a group of armed cultists who conducted a nighttime raid, targeting residents and a metal scavenger, popularly known as Iron Condemn. During the raid, the scavenger was shot after refusing to surrender his mobile phone, prompting the assailants to open fire.

The victim later succumbed to his injuries, while three other individuals sustained varying degrees of gunshot wounds and are receiving treatment. Mr.

Iyamah reiterated the command's commitment to tackling cult-related violence and criminal activities across the state, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies. He emphasized the importance of community cooperation in ensuring public safety and stated that anyone involved in the attack would face prosecution according to the law.
