Police Arrest 10 Suspected Cultists in Bayelsa Attack

The Bayelsa State Police Command arrested ten suspected cultists in a raid conducted in the Obel area of Yenagoa on Tuesday. The operation was prompted by a distress call from residents regarding armed cultists who had invaded the community, resulting in a deadly attack.

According to Police Commissioner Iyamah Daniel, the suspects allegedly attacked metal scavengers, commonly known as iron, during the night, dispossessing them of their mobile phones and valuables. The attack led to one fatality and left three others with varying degrees of injuries from gunshot wounds.

The police are currently investigating to identify and apprehend additional members of the gang. Daniel urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement by providing credible information to ensure justice for the victims of the attack.
