Police Arrest 12 Suspected Cultists in Benue State

The Benue State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner Ifeanyi Nwadiogbu, arrested twelve suspected cultists in a recent operation aimed at addressing violent crime in the region. This operation is part of a broader initiative to tackle armed robbery, banditry, and murder across Benue State.

Nwadiogbu disclosed that the police have recorded significant breakthroughs in their crackdown on criminal activities, including the neutralization of seven bandits during separate gun battles in Makurdi, Katsina-Ala, and Logo Local Government Areas. Firearms, ammunition, and stolen motorcycles were recovered during these operations.

Additionally, five herders were arrested in Guma for allegedly grazing cattle on farmland, with four locally fabricated pistols concealed in their possession. The police also apprehended fifteen suspects during raids on hideouts in Katsina-Ala.

Nwadiogbu urged the public to continue providing credible information to security agencies, emphasizing the importance of community support in improving security across the state.
