Bayelsa Residents Demand Urgent Infrastructure Improvements

Residents of Amorokeni in Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State, express deep concern over prolonged neglect and the absence of essential social amenities. Community leaders, including immediate past clan president Precious Okala and immediate past youth president Akik Olali, highlighted the poor state of infrastructure, noting that despite the community's contributions to the state's economy, it lacks good roads, making transportation difficult and limiting social activities.

They reported challenges in accessing quality healthcare due to the absence of functional health facilities, which has resulted in loss of lives during medical emergencies. The community also suffers from unstable electricity supply, negatively impacting business and overall quality of life.

Residents appealed to the Bayelsa State Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission for urgent intervention to construct standard roads, provide potable water, establish equipped healthcare facilities, and restore stable electricity supply. They expressed frustration over unfulfilled promises made by politicians during election campaigns.
