Borno Police Urges Vigilance in Ramadan's Final Days

The Borno State Police Command has issued a statement urging residents to remain vigilant as they enter the final ten days of Ramadan, a period often marked by increased movement and gatherings, particularly during tafsir and iftar prayers. The statement, signed by ASP Nahum Daso, emphasizes the spiritual significance of this time while advising the public to take necessary precautions.

Residents are encouraged to promptly report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through emergency contact lines. Parents and guardians are specifically warned not to leave children unattended in crowded places, including places of worship.

This advisory comes in light of Borno State's ongoing security challenges, particularly from the Boko Haram insurgency, which has historically exploited religious gatherings for attacks. The police have intensified patrols and surveillance across Maiduguri to ensure public safety, especially during Laylatul Qadr, the holiest night in Islam.

The command wishes the Muslim community peace and spiritual rewards as Ramadan concludes.
