Beheaded Corpse Found in University of Jos Community

The corpse of a beheaded man was found on a farm within the University of Jos community, causing alarm among students and staff. The victim, a 300-level student named Atok, reported the discovery to journalists.

University officials, speaking anonymously, confirmed that preliminary findings indicated the deceased was a farmer who regularly cultivated crops in the area. It was noted that the victim was neither a student nor a staff member of the university and was known to people in the vicinity who typically farmed there.

The nature of the attack appears to be a targeted killing, as the head was missing. Arrangements were made to evacuate the body from the university premises.

The university management issued a statement, and the Director confirmed that the situation was being handled appropriately. The spokesperson for the Plateau State Police Command, Alfr Alabo, had not responded to inquiries regarding the incident at the time of the report.
