UNIJOS Graduate Ibrahim Mbaya Killed by Mob in Jos

Ibrahim Mbaya, a 25-year-old graduate of the University of Jos, was reportedly killed by a mob in Jos, Plateau State. His family announced that he will be buried on Thursday in his hometown, Hawul Local Government Area, Borno State.

His younger brother, James Mbaya, described the loss as devastating, particularly for their parents, as Ibrahim was the first child and male of the family. Ibrahim was a talented model, dancer, and entrepreneur with dreams of owning a fashion house and restaurant.

The incident occurred on Sunday at an off-campus apartment where Ibrahim was staying after attending a social event. Following the report of a missing iPhone, he was accused of theft by his friend and a group of youths.

The Plateau State Police Command confirmed the arrest of three suspects: Rinji Daniel Fwanji, Emmanuel Newyear, and Nensemka Fwanji, in connection with the alleged culpable homicide. The family has called for justice, emphasizing the brutality of Ibrahim's death.
