Benue MACBAN Chairman Muhammad Idri Shot Dead in Ambush

Muhammad Idri, the chairman of the Benue chapter of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), was shot dead on a road in Otukpo Local Government Area, alongside his associate Yakubu Isah. The ambush occurred at approximately 2:00 PM while they were returning from a meeting in Ohimini LGA.

The incident was confirmed by Muhammad Idri, who reported the attack to the police division in Ohimini. Gabriel Adol, the chairman of Ohimini LGA, noted that the deceased had previously raised concerns about the activities of herders in the area.

Maxwel Ogiri, the chairman of Otukpo, confirmed the incident and mentioned that local tensions had heightened. He appealed for calm in the community.

The police public relations officer, DSP Udem Edet, also confirmed the killing, indicating the serious nature of the attack.
