David Mark Demands Action Against Killings in Benue

Former Senate President David Mark, currently the chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has condemned the recent killings in Benue and Plateau states, where 16 individuals were reported killed in Otukpo and Riyom. Mark described the attacks as barbaric and a direct assault on human life, expressing grave concern over the persistent violence in these communities.

He called for immediate and decisive action to halt the ongoing carnage, emphasizing that the rising wave of kidnappings and killings poses a serious threat to national security and social stability. Mark urged the federal government to intensify efforts by the armed forces and police to combat these heinous crimes, enhance intelligence gathering, and deploy security personnel to vulnerable areas.

He extended condolences to the families of the victims and called for a collaborative effort among community leaders and security agencies to prevent further attacks, asserting that no Nigerian community should be left at the mercy of armed criminals.
