Dan Onjeh Accuses Mark and Moro of Stealing Mandate

Dan Onjeh, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and senatorial aspirant for Benue South, accused former Senate President David Mark and Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro of unlawfully taking his mandate. Onjeh made these allegations during a press interaction following his participation in the APC screening exercise in Abuja, ahead of the party's forthcoming primaries.

He dismissed speculation regarding automatic tickets for candidates, asserting that he would contest in the direct primaries as per the APC's internal decisions. Onjeh emphasized that the APC had already embraced direct primaries in line with constitutional provisions for the 2023 elections.

He referenced a previous defeat and claimed that Mark and Moro benefited from a mandate that rightfully belonged to him. George Akume, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, noted that the party leadership in Benue State had resolved that there would be no automatic tickets, and all aspirants would compete in the primaries.
