Miyetti Allah Appeals to Tinubu Over Bodejo's Detention

The Miyetti Allah Kautal has formally requested President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene in the ongoing detention of its national leader, Abdullahi Bello-Bodejo, asserting that his constitutional rights and personal liberty should be respected. Idris Gidado-Bebeji, the North Central Chairman of the association, made this appeal during a press conference on Wednesday in Karu, Nasarawa State.

The group also called on other officials, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu and Attorney-General Lateef Fagbemi, to address the situation. Bello-Bodejo was initially detained by the State Security Service in Jalingo, Taraba State, shortly after announcing his candidacy for the Taraba Central Senatorial District seat.

After nearly four months in custody, he was released but was rearrested by DSS operatives on August 28, 2026. Gidado-Bebeji emphasized that the association is not seeking to obstruct lawful processes but wants a review of the legal grounds for Bello-Bodejo's continued detention, highlighting his commitment to peaceful coexistence and support for the APC.
