Students Abducted During SSCE in Borno Attack

On Monday morning, gunmen abducted an unspecified number of students from Government Day Secondary School in Lassa Town, located in Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State. The attack occurred while the students were writing their Senior School Certificate Examination organized by the National Examination Council.

During the assault, at least one teacher was shot dead, and several students sustained injuries, although the exact casualty figures remain unconfirmed. Nahum Daso, the spokesperson for the Borno State Police, acknowledged that several students went missing following the raid.

Residents reported that Nigerian military troops stationed in the area had left to patrol a nearby town, Uba, approximately 16 kilometers away, when the insurgents struck. The attackers fired sporadically, causing panic among the residents and students.
