Borno College Remains Inactive Despite N200M Investment

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum visited a college in Gwoza that was established three years ago with a N200 million grant from the state government for rehabilitation. Despite the funding, the college has not commenced any academic programs, and Zulum expressed his disappointment with the management's performance, particularly their failure to demonstrate commitment to operationalizing the institution.

The college, which was formerly a teacher training college, boasts 100 renovated classrooms and modern laboratories, with additional staff quarters provided by the state government, including 12 two-bedroom units to encourage staff retention. Zulum described the situation as unacceptable given the level of investment made by the Borno State Government and noted that the Federal Ministry of Education recommended changes among the principal officers to ensure the commencement of academic activities.
