Borno Governor Zulum Supports Islamic Education with Scholarships

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing the Sangaya Islamic education system during a meeting with a delegation from the Borno State Arab Sangaya Education Board, led by Chairman Sheikh Khalifa Ali Abdul Fatai. Zulum pledged continuous support for the institution and announced the awarding of scholarships to 12 students, including Mustafa Omar, to pursue senior secondary education at Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt.

Sheikh Khalifa described the scholarship award as a historic milestone for Islamic education in Borno State. Zulum assured that the state government would provide additional assistance to students and their parents as needed.

He also announced ongoing renovations at the Al Azhar Institute to improve accommodation for students and teachers. Furthermore, Zulum received the winners of a national Quran recitation competition and committed to supporting Quranic education in the state, emphasizing Borno's historical significance in Arab Islamic scholarship.
