The selection process involved 171 nominations, with 99 entries meeting eligibility requirements, leading to 30 finalists across 15 categories. A seven-member jury evaluated the entries based on impact, innovation, originality, reach, and quality of evidence.

The awards aimed to promote informed national discourse and strengthen professional communication in Nigeria.
