Borno State Commends NHED for Malaria IMPACT Project

Borno State has praised the Network Health Equity Development (NHED) and the Malaria IMPACT project for their significant contributions to malaria diagnosis and treatment. Professor Malam Gana made this commendation during a meeting held at Pinnacle Hotel in Maiduguri, which discussed the project's implementation for 2024-2025.

The NHED, in collaboration with the Borno State government and the World Bank, has been instrumental in providing malaria services across 27 local government areas. These services include diagnosing and treating malaria, training healthcare staff, and supplying malaria drugs and mosquito nets.

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum was recognized for his support and commitment to enhancing healthcare services, which includes building 58 hospitals and clinics and equipping health centers. Professor Gana assured that the state government will continue to partner with NHED to improve healthcare delivery, particularly for malaria.

Dr. Mala Waziri, the project coordinator, acknowledged the role of the state government and health ministries in implementing the malaria impact project.
