Nigeria Launches Digital Standards Platform for Procurement

The Federal Government of Nigeria officially launched the Digital Standards Platform (DSP) to enhance public procurement and support the Nigeria First Policy, which prioritizes locally made goods and services. The launch was led by Dr.

Adebowale A. Adedokun, FCIPS, the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), in collaboration with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON).

Dr. Adedokun emphasized that the DSP will integrate Nigerian Industrial Standards (NIS) into the procurement ecosystem, ensuring that public spending is aligned with quality and patriotism.

He announced that the NIS will be fully integrated into the BPP’s e-Marketplace, allowing stakeholders to procure verified, standards-compliant local products. The platform will also provide an NIS Attestation Certificate for all Federal Government procurement involving applicable NIS.

Senator John Owan Enoh, the Honourable Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, described the DSP as a transformative tool for ease of doing business and urged stakeholders to collaborate with the platform.
