Cross River Power Commissioner Eka William Dies in Abuja

Eka William, serving as the Cross River Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, died on September 12, 2026, while receiving treatment at a hospital in Abuja. His brother, Nkang William, announced the news on September 13, describing the death as a sudden blow that left the family in deep grief.

Nkang characterized his late brother as a companion and a central figure in the family, stating that the loss created an irreplaceable gap. The shock of William's passing extended beyond his family, with Pius Kejuo Osang, a former councillor from Boki Local Government Area, expressing disbelief at the news, given their recent interaction.

Michael Gabriel Jr., the executive media assistant to Senator John Owan-Enoh, paid tribute to William, noting that Ikom Local Government Area had lost a man of integrity. Despite their sorrow, Nkang indicated that the family intended to honor William's legacy through the knowledge he imparted and the relationships he fostered.
