Bindow Rejoins APC Ahead of 2027 Elections in Adamawa

Former Governor and serving senator Muhammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), completing his re-registration at his ward in Mubi, Adamawa State, on Sunday, August 23, 2026. Bindow had previously sought a second term as governor under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) but withdrew from that race in May 2026.

His return to the APC was marked by a gathering of supporters, family, and political associates. Bindow stated that his decision followed extensive consultations with political associates and was consistent with his commitment to party discipline.

He mentioned discussions with the Vice President and a recent meeting with the President, who expressed happiness at his return. Bindow endorsed all APC candidates for the 2027 elections, urging support for President Tinubu and Ahmad Tijjani Galadima in the Adamawa governorship race.

He clarified that personal ambition did not influence his return and emphasized his intent to work towards the party's success.
