Hoodlums Attack Ex-Deputy Governor's Home in Oyo

On Saturday, violence erupted in Oyo State as hoodlums attacked the residence of former Deputy Governor Barrister Hazim Gbolarumi amid a local government congress organized by a faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Minister Nyesom Wike. The clash involved two rival PDP factions aligned with Governor Seyi Makinde and Wike, leading to multiple injuries and significant property destruction.

Reports indicate that 25 individuals were injured, and there was extensive vandalism of homes, offices, and vehicles across various local government areas, including Ibadan North, Ido, Ibarapa Central, Akinyele, and Ogbomoso North. Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso, chairman of the Wike faction in Oyo, confirmed the attack and warned of thugs causing havoc in the local government.

The Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanladi, confirmed the incident and stated that further details would be provided later.
