Adesina Blames Poor Leadership for Nigeria's Economic Woes

Femi Adesina, the former special adviser to late President Muhammadu Buhari, spoke at the first annual public lecture organized by the Foursquare Gospel Church in Aba Ibeji, Oyo State, on Thursday. He lamented Nigeria's socio-economic decline, attributing it to weak political leadership and corruption.

Adesina highlighted that despite Nigeria's large youth population, rich natural resources, and fertile land, these advantages have not translated into wealth for the citizens. He criticized past and present leaders, including Tafawa Balewa and Bola Tinubu, for failing to ensure that the country's resources benefit its citizens.

Adesina pointed out that young Nigerians are frustrated due to unemployment and lack of opportunities for a better quality of life. He called for a movement towards better leadership, noting that the country's challenges stem from poor infrastructure and governance.

Various speakers at the event echoed his sentiments, identifying bad leadership as a significant barrier to Nigeria's growth.
