Cadbury Nigeria 2025 Sustainability Report: Key Highlights

Cadbury Nigeria Plc filed its 2025 Sustainability Report on September 30, 2026, detailing the company's environmental, social, governance, and economic initiatives. The report covers the Cocoa Life programme, packaging sourcing, energy practices, and corporate governance compliance across its Nigerian operations.

Cadbury Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Mondelēz International, has published its 2025 Sustainability Report, structured around three pillars: Economic, Environmental Stewardship, and Social/Governance accountability.

Under the Economic pillar, the company's Cocoa Life programme — launched in Nigeria in July 2022 — had reached approximately 8,800 farmers across roughly 320 communities in six states: Ekiti, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Oyo, and Cross River, by end of 2025. Farmers received training on good agricultural practices to improve cocoa yield and quality.

On the environmental side, the company states that 100% of its packaging materials are locally sourced. It operates a wastewater treatment plant and generates power using natural gas. Both its Ikeja and Ondo plants recorded over eight years incident-free. The company also reported 96%+ action closure from regulator visits.

For governance, the company disclosed full compliance with the Nigerian Code of Corporate Governance (NCCG 2018), with compliance reports submitted to the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and filed on the NGX Issuers Portal. The Bournvita brand supported sales performance through television, digital, and out-of-home campaigns, including a Ramadan promotional offer and installation of over 50 gondolas nationwide.
