CDCFIB Launches 2026 Promotion Exercise for Officers

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has officially begun the 2026 promotion exercise for senior officers within the paramilitary services. This initiative targets officers ranked as Deputy Controller and above across the Nigerian Security Civil Defence Corps, Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Federal Fire Service.

The flag-off ceremony took place at the Army Resource Centre in Asokoro District, Abuja, led by Maj Gen Abdulmaleek Jibrin (Retd), who urged participating officers to uphold the highest standards of discipline throughout the process. The promotion exercise aims to ensure that qualified and competent officers are elevated to higher ranks, thereby enhancing service delivery across the four services.

The board has successfully concluded the 2025 promotion exercise and is now awaiting applications for the 2026 process, with the recruitment portal scheduled to open from December 1 to 3, 2025. However, on December 1, 2025, the CDCFIB announced an indefinite postponement of the portal opening, citing the need for further adjustments following the completion of a computer-based test on November 19, 2025.
