Eric Chel Justifies $130K Salary Demand from NFF

Eric Chel, the current coach of the Super Eagles, has justified his salary demand of $130,000 per month from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which he claims is aimed at improving working conditions. Chel dismissed rumors of threatening to quit his role, stating that he remains committed to the team.

His salary request is part of a broader set of 19 demands submitted to the NFF, which includes provisions for a private SUV, security details, accommodation, and uninterrupted power supply. Chel clarified that the $130,000 figure is in dollars, not euros, and is subject to board approval.

He expressed surprise that the details of his demands became public, indicating that he had no direct involvement in the leak. Despite interest from clubs like Olympique Marseille and others in Africa, Chel confirmed he has not pursued any job offers.

He is expected to name his squad for the upcoming international window, where Nigeria will face Iran, Jordan, and Costa Rica.
