CCCC's Jin Haibing Promotes Cultural Exchange in Nigeria

The China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) has pledged to enhance its engagement with Nigerian communities by supporting the preservation and promotion of local customs and traditions. This commitment was made by CCCC's Project Manager, Jin Haibing, during the New Yam Festival celebration in Nchatancha Nike Community, Enugu State.

The festival coincided with China’s Mid-Autumn Festival, providing an opportunity for CCCC staff and community members to interact and explore cultural traditions. Haibing emphasized the importance of cultural activities in fostering mutual understanding and strengthening community relations.

The New Yam Festival, known as Iri Ji among the Igbo people, marks the harvest season and expresses gratitude, while the Mid-Autumn Festival symbolizes family reunion and goodwill. Despite their different origins, both festivals share values of harvest, happiness, unity, and aspirations for a better life.

The celebration included traditional prayers, goodwill messages, cultural displays, dances, and the ceremonial presentation of new yam, allowing CCCC officials and community members to appreciate the local cultural heritage.
