Civil Servants Urged to Embrace Innovation in Abuja

During the opening ceremony of the 2026 Civil Service Week at the Federal Ministry of Information headquarters in Abuja, Dr. Binyerem C.

Ukair, the Permanent Secretary, called on civil servants to embrace innovation, digital transformation, and excellence in service delivery. The event, running from June 22 to June 28, 2026, aims to recognize the contributions of civil servants to national development.

Dr. Ukair highlighted the theme of the celebration, "Transforming Public Institutions: Advancing Innovation, Participation, and Inclusion," which aligns with ongoing federal government reforms to strengthen public institutions.

She urged staff to uphold core values such as integrity, professionalism, accountability, patriotism, and excellence. The Permanent Secretary emphasized the need for continuous learning and adaptation to meet modern governance demands.

The ceremony featured presentations on the six pillars of the Federal Civil Service Strategy Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021-2025, with various directors discussing talent management, performance management systems, and the importance of embracing innovative thinking.
