CNG Criticizes Exclusion of North West in Road Projects

The Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), led by Comrade Jamilu Aliyu Charanchi, expressed disappointment over the Nigerian federal government's approval of 27 federal road projects valued at 3.9 trillion naira, which notably excluded seven states in the North West region: Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara. The CNG urged the federal government to reconsider this oversight, emphasizing that the North West has significant political and economic contributions, particularly in agriculture and trade.

They argued that the exclusion raises serious questions about whose interests are being represented by political leaders. The group demanded an immediate review of the approved projects to include the neglected states and called for urgent completion of the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway.

They stressed that the people of the North West deserve infrastructure that reflects their substantial contributions to the Nigerian economy and democracy.
