APC Members Petition Tinubu Over Jos North Primary Results

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Jos North have submitted a petition to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing their concerns regarding the recent primary election for the House of Assembly seat. The petition, signed by Usman Danasab and Josiah Mark on behalf of concerned APC members, urges the president to intervene and safeguard internal party democracy.

The letter highlights that Dr. Adamu Aliyu won the primary with 13,066 votes, defeating Harri Ishaya, who received 1,904 votes, while Shehu Bala and Hassan Abdulkadir garnered 239 and 182 votes, respectively.

The group raised alarms about reports suggesting that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) facilitated the issuance of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to candidates who finished fourth in the contest. They argue that such actions undermine the principles of internal democracy and the will of the party delegates.

The petition calls for the recognition of the legitimate election outcome and urges that no individual or group should override the clear mandate given by the party delegates.
