Kano Council Seizes 419 Cartons of Expired Chemicals

The Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) seized 419 cartons of expired agricultural chemicals during a raid on Club Road in the Kano metropolis. Dr. Ibrahim Garba-Muhammad, the Executive Secretary of the council, announced the seizure in a statement issued by Jamilu Mustapha, the council’s Director of Public Enlightenment, on Saturday.

The raid was prompted by credible intelligence regarding the stockpiling of expired chemicals at the location, with allegations of attempts to alter the products' condition for reintroduction into the market. The KCPC officials sealed the premises where the chemicals were stored and will conduct further investigations and legal actions.

Garba-Muhammad emphasized the council's commitment to safeguarding consumer health and safety in Kano and urged the public to report any suspected unsafe products. He also acknowledged the support of the State Government in the council's efforts to combat the circulation of adulterated and unsafe products.
