Defence Minister Confirms Real Coup Plot Against Tinubu

On Thursday, during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, General Christopher Musa (rtd), the Minister of Defence, confirmed that a coup plot against President Bola Tinubu was indeed real. Musa stated that the individuals involved aimed to remove Tinubu from power.

He mentioned that the Department of State Services (DSS) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) are currently investigating the alleged involvement of Timipre Sylva, the former Minister of State for Petroleum, in this coup plot. Musa expressed that those who participated in the coup may have been misled, as there was no concrete reason for initiating such an action.

He assured the public that further information regarding the individuals involved and the circumstances surrounding the coup would be disclosed once the investigations are completed. Musa emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “The coup was real, they actually wanted to do it.”.
