Court Bars Emmanuel Kanu From Representing Nnamdi Kanu, Adjourns Transfer Motion

The Federal High Court in Abuja halted Emmanuel Kanu's attempt to represent his brother, Nnamdi Kanu, in court. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was convicted on terrorism charges and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The court ruled that Emmanuel Kanu, not being a qualified lawyer, cannot represent Nnamdi Kanu in legal matters. The presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, emphasized the need for a licensed legal practitioner to handle the case.

The court adjourned the hearing on the transfer application to Sokoto Correctional Facility to December 8. Emmanuel Kanu's appearance was dismissed, and the judge urged the public to refrain from spreading misinformation about the legal process.
