Court Rules Against Ganduje in Port Ownership Dispute

The Kano State High Court, presided over by Judge Yusuf Ubal, ruled against former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje's request in a port ownership dispute. Ganduje's counsel, Aminu Gadanya, challenged the legal instrument known as "fiat" that authorized the prosecution team.

Gadanya argued that the prosecution lacked specific authority to litigate the case. The court, however, affirmed the authority of the prosecution team, led by Muhuyi Magaji, stating that the issues raised were unnecessary and that the prosecution was properly constituted.

Despite this ruling, the defense team, represented by Muhammad Abdallah and Abubakar Bawuro, indicated they were not ready to proceed, leading to a request for an adjournment. The court noted that several applications filed by the defense remained pending, which contributed to the decision to delay further proceedings.
