Chris Brown Ordered to Pay ₦19 Billion for Dog Attack

A Los Angeles jury found Chris Brown culpable for an attack by his 200-pound Caucasian shepherd dog on housekeeper Maria Avila, ordering him to pay ₦19 billion (approximately $12.9 million). The incident occurred while Avila was working at Brown's home in Tarzana, California.

During the trial, it was revealed that Brown's dog, intended for security purposes, attacked Avila, causing severe injuries that led to permanent facial disfigurement, nerve damage, and loss of vision. Testimonies indicated that Brown fled the scene instead of calling emergency services.

Although Brown's lawyer argued that the dog was not a personal pet and was meant for security, the jury found in favor of Avila. The trial lasted two weeks, during which Brown accepted culpability for the attack but disputed the extent of Avila's injuries, claiming she was partially at fault.

Avila described the attack, stating she was left with severe scars on her face and left arm.
