Nigeria Cricket Teams Retain ICC Rankings in Latest Update

The Nigeria men's and women's cricket teams have retained their positions in the latest ICC rankings released by the International Cricket Council on Tuesday. The men's team dropped two places to 36th, while the women's team maintained their 26th position.

The rankings are based on match performances, with 100% weight given to matches played in the last year and 50% to those from the previous two years. The Nigeria men's team, known as the Yellow Green, accumulated 78 rating points, slightly below their previous total of 79.

The women's team featured in the T20 World Cup qualifiers and the Kwibuka Invitational tournament last year, improving their ranking to 26th with 79 points, up from 76. In Africa, Nigeria ranks seventh among men and women, with South Africa leading in both categories.

The overall ICC rankings for men and women remain unchanged at the top, with India, Australia, and England leading.
