Cross River Power Commissioner Prince Eka William Dies

Prince Eka William, the Cross River State Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at a hospital in Abuja while receiving medical attention. His brother, Nkang William, announced the sudden death in a statement on Sunday, expressing disbelief and sorrow over the loss of his brother, who had been with the family shortly before his passing.

Nkang described Prince Eka William as more than a brother, highlighting the deep emotional void his death has created. Friends and colleagues, including Pius Kejuo Osang, a former councillor, and Michael Gabriel Jr., Executive Media Assistant to Senator John Owan-Enoh, expressed shock and paid tribute to William's dedication as a public servant.

Gabriel Jr. noted that Ikom Local Government Area lost a good man whose life of service and humility would be remembered. The family plans to celebrate the life and impact of Prince Eka William despite their grief.
