CCPDD Urges Tinubu to Stay Neutral Amid Kwara APC Rift

The Centre for Citizen Participation in Democratic Development (CCPDD) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to maintain neutrality regarding the ongoing crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State. In a statement issued by the group's Executive Director, Prof.

Abdulkareem Adedeji, concerns were raised about reports of a planned visit by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to Abuja to meet with the President and political leaders. The CCPDD interprets this as an attempt to portray unity within the party despite unresolved disagreements stemming from the APC primaries, particularly the controversial governorship primary.

The group cautioned that any actions perceived as favoring one faction could undermine reconciliation efforts and deepen the crisis. They urged traditional rulers to remain impartial and uphold their roles as custodians of peace and justice.

The CCPDD emphasized the need for a transparent and genuine reconciliation process within the Kwara APC to safeguard party unity and public confidence in democratic credibility.
