Cult Clash in Rivers State Leaves One Dead on Easter Sunday

A violent clash between rival cult groups in Rivers State led to the death of one suspected cultist on Easter Sunday. The incident took place on Abakaliki Street, Mile 1, in the Diobu area, where members of the Deybam cult group, identified as the Doggi White Eagle faction, engaged in a bloody confrontation.

Eyewitnesses reported that the victim was shot shortly after stepping out of a nearby shop, causing panic among residents and passersby who fled for safety. The Rivers State Police Command, led by CSP Grace Iring Koko, confirmed the incident and described it as an intra-cult clash.

The Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered a manhunt for the individuals involved and directed that those responsible be apprehended and brought to justice. Security measures have been reinforced in the area to prevent further violence.
