Adeniyi Honored for Trade Reforms at Nigeria Awards

Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), received recognition at the 2026 Nigeria Most Influential Awards (NMIA) held recently in Abuja. He was honored alongside other prominent Nigerians for their significant contributions to nation-building.

The award was specifically for his leadership in implementing strategic reforms in trade facilitation, enhancing border security, and advancing technology-driven operations beyond the traditional revenue-collection role of the Customs Service. In his response, Adeniyi expressed his happiness at the recognition, stating that it was gratifying to see efforts to improve Customs administration acknowledged.

Vivian Lam, the Convener of NMIA and Chief Executive Officer of VGlamour Magazine, noted that the awards have celebrated individuals whose contributions positively impact society for the past decade. She emphasized that true influence is measured by the transformation of lives and communities rather than by wealth or popularity.
