David Mark Urges ADC Candidates to Avoid Hate Speech

On Monday in Abuja, Senator David Mark, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), called on the party's governorship candidates to refrain from hate speech and unrealistic promises as they prepare for their campaigns starting September 9 for the 2027 general elections. Mark emphasized that making commitments without the intention to fulfill them could harm both the candidates' credibility and the party's integrity.

He stated, “We are ADC. Our campaign must reflect the kind of country that we would like to build.

Avoid hate speech, ethnic or religious profiling. We cannot be associated with violence in whatever form.” He also encouraged the candidates to familiarize themselves with the party’s Governance and Ethical Principles as outlined in the ‘Orange Book’ and the ADC manifesto.

The candidates expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contest and pledged their loyalty to the ADC, supporting the party's focus on reducing the cost of living for Nigerians, including a proposal to restore the fuel subsidy to lower petrol prices.
